Louise Hajjar Diamond has been a school counselor since 1990 in Florida. She earned her master’s degree in Counseling and Human Systems and her bachelor’s in Psychology from Florida State University. She counsels students, parents, faculty members, and administrators on issues of student adjustment, mental health, and motivational behavior.
Her experience in school counseling, child development, and education have led her to write dozens of articles for parenting and professional publications for over twenty years. Louise believes that raising children is life’s most important work, and she provides humble and thoughtful suggestions based on her experience as a school counselor for parents and families.
Her book, Creating the Balance: Parenting Through the Middle School Years, is an essential read for parents of tweens and young teens, providing insights from a school counselor with decades of experience.
The book offers many insights into helping middle school children, recognizing that parenting is a humbling experience and that both parents and middle schoolers are facing more challenges than ever. Diamond draws on research and studies, but also discusses experiences with her own children and the families she counsels.
